| Grand Prairie, Texas -- June 6, 2008 MannaWalk, the four-year-old fundraising activity which supports the programs of MannaRelief Ministries, has greatly expanded its events.
Individuals wishing to support MannaWalk by organizing fundraising events may now schedule virtually any type of event and hold them at any time during the year.
"We began as a walk event to raise awareness and funds for kids in need of nutritional support," says spokesman Butch Johnson. "The enthusiast response has been wonderful -- but our event leaders wanted more than a walk, they wanted a lot of different kinds of events. We just accommodated those requests."
Last year as a test, MannaRelief supported a number of unique events -- a bowling marathon, a quilting gathering, a bike race, a mall walk and many different community service activities. "It became clear that opening MannaWalk up so the leaders could create events tailored to the needs of the local community was the way to go," adds MannaRelief Chief Operating Officer, Billy Mullins.
MannaWalk '08 is supported by a new online system which automates many aspects of managing a fundraising event. Donors can give directly to a particular MannaWalk event online using credit cards, or give to the general MannaWalk fund. Leaders can manage a unique MannaWalk event web page, changing graphics and messages and adding corporate logos for business donors.
